How Kagame's assassins planned and executed the death of Major Alex Ruzindana

Major Ruzindana Alex, who was assassinated on orders of blood thirsties President Kagame using his killing death squads which immediately mercilessly burnt his dead body into ashes
Gasasira, Sweden
Umuvugizi has for sometime been investigating the reasons why Kagame's assassins murdered in cold blood Rwandan hero Major Alex Ruzindana, one of the Rwandan brave soldiers well known for his astuteness and also for condemning the criminal acts by Kagame's security organs.
Investigations by Umuvugizi on the cruel murder of Major Alex Ruzindana, who was killed few days after he had been retired from the army, for his divergent views, where he used to publically condemn the dictatorial tendencies of Kagame, sources confirm that there were other compelling secreted reasons why Kagame gave orders to pitilessly kill this hero that saved hundreds of people during the 1990-94 war and sacrificed very much not only for his country but even in the region.
The investigations by Umuvugizi reveal that this cruel murder of Maj. Ruzindana who was well known for his excellence and daring actions at the frontline, happened after Gen Jack Nziza who was by then the director of Directorate of Military intelligence (DMI), wrote a damning fictitious report accusing him of talking with some of his former comrades and senior high-ranking officers in the Ugandan military. To this murderer, Gen Jack Nziza, the action of his interacting with his former comrades in Uganda , was one of the major reasons why Ruzindana was supposed to be murdered, especially after his fellow murderer Kagame, expressly after receiving the malicious report approved the murder of Major Ruzindana without even listening to him or allowing him to provide his story on the authenticity of the malicious allegations by Gen Jack Nziza.
After receiving the report from Gen Jack Nziza recommending that Major Ruzindana had to be killed, Kagame who is also well down for his craving to spill blood, immediately asked Gen James Kabarebe, who was by then the deputy Chief of General Staff, to order captain Butera Vianney alias Kavugure, who was a very close friend of Major Alex Ruzindana, to look for him and entice him into mineral business known by that time as Colta well knowing that he couldn't resist because he had worked with Butera Vianney, for long time in the military particularly Alpha unit and in the RDF First Battalion.
However the intention here was not business but on orders of president Kagame through Gen James Kabarebe , Captain Butare's role in this murderous crime as assigned by president Kagame was to make sure that he successfully dragged Major Ruzindana Alex into an ambush of president killing squad on there way to Butare heading to Bukavu through Nyungwe Forests .
On orders of president Kagame through Gen Jack Nziza, Rwanda Defence Force Brigade attached in former Butare Brigade situated in Southern Rwanda was the one which was assigned to carry out this murderous crime in connivance with President's Kagame's killing Squad under the Counter Intelligence in the Notorious directorate of Military Intelligence "DMI".
Sources within Rwandan Intelligence confirmed to Umuvugizi that the actual crime of murdering Major Ruzindana Alex was perpetuated on 7th May 2001, when President Kagame issued a death penalty to his fellow war comrade through murder minded Gen Jack Nziza who was the chief of the notorious directorate of military intelligence but on conditions that they were to clandestinely carry out this murderous activity in President Kagame's Military Intelligence grave yard which situated in an isolated place in Nyungwe Forests ,where his notorious intelligence organs man slaughters such people of high profile cases approved by president Kagame to be exterminated .
After the approval of death penalty of Major Ruzindana Alex by the blood thirstiest President Kagame, a team headed by Lt Col Karangwa who is currently heading one of RDF Combat battalion which is on UN Peace Keeping Mission in Darfur , as a reward of having massively assassinating innocent civilians and fellow service men during the time he was heading Rwanda's counter Military intelligence made surveillance to the vehicle which Major Ruzindana Alex had travelled in, driven by Captain Butera Vianney aka Kavungure who was acting on orders of Gen James Kabarebe in order to drag him in an ambush of President Kagame's killing squad attached in a RDF Brigade in Southern Province .
Another murderous blue eyed Son of president Kagame , Inspector General of Rwanda's Police Gasana Emmanuel who was by that time a captain and Intelligence officer of that Brigade in former Butare Provinces alerted his colleagues who are famously known of having carried out cleansing in areas of Former Butare ,Gikongoro and Changugu and who where at that time also in charge of his bleeding Grave yard in Nyungwe Forest in order to execute the murder of Major Ruzindana Alex.
According to a senior Military Intelligence officer who was close to them revealed that a team under IGP Gasana Emmanuel made of Murderous Lt Col Tinka Faustin who was also groomed and promoted from the rank of Captain to Lt Colonel because of cleansing innocent civilians and his fellow military service men in Southern Province , a murderous character which also awarded him to be deputy director of Rwanda's notorious directorate of military intelligence with special assignments of being answerable to Rwanda's killing squad in 2007 up to 2010 plea to his deployment in Rwanda's embassy in Tanzania as the Military attaché, others officers who happens to have same bloody thirst back ground who were attached to the RDF Brigade under directives IGP Gasana Emmanuel who were involved in this assassination execution were Major Migabo Augustin and retired Captain Serivatori.
Among the killing squad which were under directives of IGP Gasana Emmanuel who personally got involved in the assassination of Major Ruzindana Alex was Lt Kalisa Faustin who was attached to that Brigade as political commissar who is also famously of having characterized of shedding blood of innocent civilians and fellow service men through out his military carrier , a merciless murderous background which later on awarded him to be one of officer staffs in president Kagame's murderous counter Military intelligence and due to his successfully murderous operations he was later on ironically awarded to head a sensitive post of being chief of Special Intelligence which is under Rwanda National Police , an organ which is deals with day to day life activities of innocent Rwandan Civilians .
On that same day these two parallel killing squad headed by Lt Col Karangwa John from Notorious Directorate of Military intelligence and another one headed by IGP Gasana Emmanuel who was the Bridage I.O in Southern region by that time ambushed the vehicle driven by Gen James Kabarebe's puppet Lt Col Butera Vianney which had arrived in Butare around mid day and abducted Major Ruzindana Alex who was immediately dumped in a vehicle which was driven by Lt Col Tinka Faustin protocoled by another convoy which was carrying members of the above mentioned two parallel killing squad which headed to president Kagame's bleeding grave yard in Nyungwe forests.
One of the spies who closely worked with those two killing squad which were led by IGP Gasana Emmanuel and Lt Col Karangwa John, told us in these words: "We were very much hurt to see that blood thirstiest Kagame depended on malicious allegations and baseless report issued by murder minded Gen Jack Nziza, and gave orders to kill an old retired senior military officers like Major Ruzindana Alex . I very much recall before he was killed, how he cried requesting his killers to allow him talk to his family and children for the last time but sadly enough was denied that last chance by President Kagame's killing squad and instead brutally killed in cold blood.''
Another spy we talked to who also participated in the murder of Major Ruzindana Alex, told us that soon or later those assassins of Kagame he has used several times in such cruel murders will be arrested and punished.
He told us that the death of Major Ruzindana is not a secret anymore, pointing out that all those who participated in the murder were instead rewarded with juicy posts both in the military and national police. He ended his testimony with irrefutable evidence graphically showing that it was Kagame's murderers that assassinated Major Alex Ruzindana given that one of the members of the killing squad which was executing that same action of butchering him, Lt Col Tinka Faustin up today incur a permanent damage of losing two front teeth due to punch of a sharp blow he was given by Major Alex Ruzindana when they were mercilessly butchering him alive .
Another evidence showing Kagame and his spies involvement in the murder of Maj. Ruzindana, is that after the Rwandan media and the family of the deceased beloved one accused Captain Butera Vianney as the one who was behind his murder given that he is the one who had picked him at his residence on orders of Gen James Kabarebe as advised by president Kagame himself . President Kagame in return carried out a judicially comedy of arresting Lt Col Butera Vianney which was intended to publically preempt evidence of the assassination of Major Ruzindana sighted by the victim's family which had got a rightly clue on the murder of their beloved one. Shocking enough was that the family of Major Ruzindana Alex and Media were caught in grief after president Kangaroo military courts shamelessly released the suspect who was supposed to be charged of conspiracy to Murder and instead as recommend by president Kagame himself, the murderer who was at a rank of captain was awarded by promoting him to the rank of Lt Colonel.
Rwandans whom we talked to during our investigations about the sudden disappearance and inhuman murder of Major Ruzindana Alex will never forget the bewitching and evil orders of President Kagame issued to his killing squad to mercilessly burn the butchered body of their colleague retired Major Ruzindana Alex into ashes during that scene of crime which took place in his notorious intelligence's bleeding grave yard situated amidst Nyungwe Forest, an order which was intended to preempt and diminish any future evidence of those who perpetuated his death.

Why We Exist

Many abuses facing African people are committed by African states, ruling elites, armed groups, military forces and security services. But these abuses are often sustained by international silence, Western lobbying, trade interests, migration deals, mineral access, diplomatic partnerships and unequal global accountability. Africa Realities Media exposes that system.

Lived Experience Matters

Survivors, displaced communities, refugees, families affected by repression, journalists, activists, women, young people and diaspora voices are not passive subjects. They are knowledge holders. Their experiences must shape policy, advocacy, journalism and public debate. The people closest to injustice are often closest to the solutions.

Our Principle

Africa Realities Media is rooted in one principle: African lives deserve equal truth, equal justice and equal protection.

THE BATTLE OF RUBAYA: Rwanda's War for Minerals Exposed

T he FDLR Pretext Collapses Under the Weight of Documented Plunder   Introduction: A Battle That Tells the Truth When Rwandan-backed RDF/M23 forces fought with extraordinary ferocity to seize and hold Rubaya — a remote mining town in North Kivu, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo — the stated justification was security. Kigali's consistent public line has been that its military presence in the DRC is a response to the threat posed by the Forces Democratiques de Liberation du Rwanda (FDLR), an armed group whose leaders include individuals linked to the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. This narrative has been accepted, qualified, or left insufficiently challenged by Western governments and multilateral institutions for over a decade. The Battle of Rubaya strips that narrative bare. What unfolded in Rubaya was not a counter-insurgency operation against genocidal remnants. It was a sustained military campaign — reinforced by the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), prosecuted at sign...

President Macron Against US Sanctions on Rwanda

How France's Interests in Mozambique Obstruct Peace in the DRC A Critical Analysis of Emmanuel Macron's Interview with TV5 Monde, Africa Forward Summit, Nairobi, 12 May 2026 Published by The African Rights Campaign (ARC)   |   London, May 2026   1. Introduction This analysis is based on French President Emmanuel Macron's interview with TV5 Monde, conducted on 12 May 2026 during the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya. In that interview, Macron was asked a direct question: given that Rwanda's support for the M23 armed group has been documented by United Nations experts, and given that the United States has imposed sanctions on the Rwanda Defence Force and several of its senior officers, why have France and the European Union declined to do the same? Macron's response was unconvincing, dishonest and analytically incoherent. It revealed not a carefully calibrated position of principled neutrality, but the operational logic of a government that has c...

The Kagame Myth: Western Power, Private Jets and Rwanda’s Controlled Reality

ANALYSIS AND INVESTIGATION Introduction: The Myth and the Man Behind the Myth There is a version of Paul Kagame that exists in the conference halls of Davos, in the pages of Western magazines, in private hotel meetings in London, Paris and Washington, and on the sleeves of European football shirts. In this version, Kagame is a visionary. A builder. A disciplined African moderniser. A leader who pulled a broken country from the ashes of genocide and turned it into what admirers often call the “Singapore of Africa”. In this version, Rwanda is clean, efficient, safe, investment-friendly and orderly. Kagame is presented as the African leader the West wants to believe in: controlled, polished, pro-market, security-focused and comfortable in elite Western spaces. Then there is the Rwanda that many Rwandans, exiles, journalists, opposition figures and human rights organisations describe. In this Rwanda, YouTubers and online commentators are jailed for what they say.

Kagame’s Image Machine: Who Profits While Rwanda Stays Poor

I nvestigation:  Paying to Stay Poor: How Western PR Firms, Lobbyists, Sports Clubs and Media Outlets Profit from Rwanda’s Image Economy Introduction: An Ecosystem of Paid Influence Rwanda is often presented internationally as a model of discipline, security, investment promotion and post-genocide recovery. That image has been carefully built, repeatedly amplified and professionally protected. Behind it sits a costly international network of sports sponsorships, lobbying contracts, public relations firms, legal consultancy, political access, favourable media relationships and diplomatic narrative management. The moral problem is clear. Rwanda remains heavily dependent on foreign aid and external financing. According to World Bank-linked data, foreign aid received by Rwanda reached approximately 1.39 billion US dollars in 2023. UNDP’s 2025 Human Development Report gives Rwanda a Human Development Index value of 0.578 for 2023, placing it 159th out of 193 countries and territories. U...

Why Africa Realities Media Is Different

Africa Realities Media speaks to Africa and to the developed world. Many abuses facing African people are committed by African states and ruling elites, but they are often protected by international silence, lobbying, public relations, trade interests, migration deals and unequal global accountability. While governments pay lobbyists to present a good image abroad, ordinary African people continue to face violence, hunger, disease, poverty, repression and exclusion. We challenge the normalisation of African suffering and demand equal truth, equal justice and equal protection.

Policy and Systems Change

Our work is designed to trigger debate, discomfort and action. We do not only expose injustice; we work for policy and systems change. We want governments and institutions to address the root causes of inequality, disadvantage, discrimination, exclusion and barriers affecting African people. We believe lasting change must be shaped by people with lived experience.

Exposing Injustice in Africa

Africa Realities Media is an independent African accountability platform based in London. We report, analyse and challenge the systems that shape African suffering, silence African victims and protect abusive power. We are not here to repeat diplomatic language. We are here to ask the questions that are often avoided: why are African deaths treated as normal? Why are African victims given less urgency? Why are governments that imprison, exclude, displace or kill their own people protected when they serve powerful international interests?

Africanews

Africa Realities Media gives space to writers, researchers, experts, activists, community voices, campaigners, analysts and people with lived experience who want to contribute thoughtful, responsible and courageous content about the changes needed in the region, as well as the political, economic, cultural and social African realities that are often ignored, minimised or misrepresented. Our articles and videos aim to encourage debate, raise awareness, stimulate critical thinking and support reflection. We seek to help people in the Great Lakes Region understand their rights to human rights, development and wellbeing, while also encouraging decision-makers to be more transparent, responsive and accountable.
